Reed Fromer

Reed Fromer (lead vocals, keyboards) is one of the strongest male singers in Northern California, whose vocal style and range inspires comparisons with Kenny Loggins, Michael McDonald, James Ingram, James Taylor, and Smokey Robinson. He is also an award-winning songwriter (with material covered by Gregg Allman, among others), a popular chorus instructor, a composer of music scores for PBS documentaries, a gospel choir accompanist, and the regional bandleader for young "Nashville Star" veteran Kristen McNamara. He has been a guest vocalist with the Persuasions and Bobby McFerrin, and a keyboardist for former Monkee Peter Tork.

Artie Wafer

Artie Wafer (bass, vocals) is one of the Bay Area's most powerful and exciting bassists, driving the band's sound in a manner similar to Verdeen White of Earth, Wind, & Fire. He has recorded with Sylvester and with Robert Winter & Fall, toured extensively with Johnny "Guitar" Watson, and has backed Barry White in concert.

Tony Langford

Tony Langford (drums) grew up in Detroit, and honed his skillful and tasteful chops backing some of Motown's biggest stars - Martha Reeves, The Spinners, The Enchantment, Eddie Kendricks - while still in his teens. More recently, he has played for such local acts as Rosie Gaines and Curtis Ohlson.

Ralph Nelson

Ralph Nelson (lead guitar, vocals), in addition to being an outstanding guitarist, is a talented vocalist and bandleader who has rocked Bay area audiences for years with his own group, Live Wire.

Bobby Young

Bobby Young (lead guitar), who rotates with Ralph Nelson on guitar, performed for fourteen years with Zakiya Hooker (and played on the final album of her father, John Lee Hooker). He also toured with the Natural Four, recorded extensively with Richard "Dimples" Fields, and has led several powerful blues/rock bands in the East Bay.

Should your event require a specific additional component, several talented guest artists are available to expand the group's sound and presentation. The list begins with percussionist (and frequent fifth member) Danny Galvin and crowd-pleasing "synth-sax" player Aaron Daniels. Also worked in on occasion are guest vocalists such as soulful and amiable Kate Hanni, silky-smooth Joy Love, and powerhouse Loralee Christensen. Additional guitarists who have worked with the band include Wilton Rabb (Prince, Larry Graham, Hammer), Murray Orrick (About Face, Swing Time), and Gail Mojo (Sly Stone, Johnny Otis). Saxophonists such as Ray Clement and award-winning Sonny Fairly have joined the group when clients have requested a horn player. Any of these players and singers can instantly and seamlessly incorporate their skills to enhance the performance. Lastly, for a more elaborate "big show" spectacle, the band also works as the rhythm section for The Best Intentions Motown Revue, featuring a quintet of talented vocal performers who capture the spirit of Motown legends such as The Four Tops, Smokey and the Miracles, and The Temptations.

On the other hand, even in its minimal three-piece format (drums, bass, and keys/vocals), the band has consistently thrilled audiences and kept dance floors packed for hours on end.
